Sure, a landfill isn't the best place to hang out, but it surprisingly brings joy to those who know how to make the most of it.
Scavengers narrates the tale of this landfill-turned-city by a group of small, organized, and supportive animals. Rodents, reptiles, birds, and amphibians inhabit this unlikely paradise, finding all they need amidst our discarded items like shoe boxes, old cans, holey socks and of course, food wastes.
In this animal society, each species plays its part. Rodents innovate, amphibians purify water, birds coordinate, and reptiles manage stocks.
However, things have shifted with the influx of electronic waste and abundant food resources, leading the animals to embrace comfort and luxury.
Jimmy epitomizes this new generation of landfill dwellers. This rat, seemingly fused with his sticky wool bathrobe, spends his days sleeping, snacking on peanuts, and engaging with his pet snail.
Meanwhile, Nina, his determined frog neighbor, prefers tinkering over her family's water purification duties. Though frustrated by Jimmy's laid-back demeanor, she appreciates his quirky humor.
When the garbage truck abruptly stops coming, the entire city is thrown into disarray. Everything depended on "delivery day" every Monday. Jimmy and Nina find themselves on an unexpected adventure amidst this crisis.
Scavengers is our first feature film in development at Illogic Studios. We are currently working on the screenplay and artistic direction, and we are proud to have crafted a first teaser to introduce its universe and protagonists.
